FAQ
Questions owners ask before switching it on
Straight answers, including the things it cannot do.
- Will callers know they are talking to an AI?
- Yes. The receptionist introduces itself as an AI assistant at the start of every call and says so again if asked. This cannot be switched off.
- What if it does not know the answer?
- It says so and offers to take a message. It only states what you have approved — your services, hours, service area, prices you chose to list, and the FAQs you wrote. It does not guess prices, availability or policies.
- Can it book appointments?
- Yes. Connect Google Calendar and it checks your free times during the call, offers open slots and books the visit straight into your calendar. Without a calendar connected, it takes the caller's preferred time as a request for your team to confirm. Either way it only says a visit is booked when it really is.
- What happens in an emergency?
- The receptionist cannot contact emergency services and is not a replacement for them. If a caller describes a danger to life or property it tells them to call 911, then alerts your on-call contacts immediately if you have set them up.
- Can it transfer a call to me?
- On plans that include transfers, yes — to the number you choose, when a caller asks for a person. If the transfer does not connect, it takes a message and alerts your team.
- Does it deal with spam and sales calls?
- Yes. Robocalls, sales pitches and obvious scams are ended politely, never alert you and never get a text back. When it is unsure, it treats the caller as a customer. You can also block any number in one click.
- Does it work with Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan?
- Every new lead, finished call and appointment request can be sent to the address of your choice. With a tool like Make or Zapier, that becomes a new client and request in Jobber or Housecall Pro, a job in ServiceTitan, or a row in a spreadsheet.
- Can I keep my existing number?
- Yes. The simplest way is to forward your existing line to your new number, either always or only when you do not answer. Your number stays with your current carrier.
- Are calls recorded?
- Not by default. Written transcripts are kept for a period you choose and then erased. You can turn audio recording on, in which case every caller is told at the start of the call.
- What if I use all my minutes?
- You are warned at 80%. If the included minutes run out, the AI stops answering until the next billing period or a plan upgrade, and callers are forwarded to your fallback number if you set one. There are no surprise overage charges.
- How do I cancel?
- From the Billing page: pick a reason, choose when it ends, and confirm. It stops all future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, your records stay available to export, and your number is held for 30 days so you can port it away. Payments already made are not refunded.
- Where can I use it?
- Anywhere in Canada and the United States. Canadian businesses pay in Canadian dollars and US businesses in US dollars. The one exception for now is Quebec, while the French version is prepared. Pas encore offert au Québec : une version française est en préparation.
- Does this guarantee I will get more work?
- No. It answers calls you would otherwise miss and hands your team a clear record of each one. What happens next depends on your follow-up, your prices and your market.
