Text alerts
Text alerts about your business's calls
Linekeeper answers phone calls for trade businesses. Owners and their team members can choose to get a text when a call needs them: a new lead, an urgent call or an appointment request.
Who gets them
Only the business's own owner and team members, at a mobile number they enter themselves or that the owner enters for them with their agreement. We never text phone numbers bought from lists, and callers to the business are never signed up for alerts.
How people sign up
Texts are off until someone turns them on. In the Linekeeper dashboard, under Alerts, a person enters a mobile number and ticks a box that is never pre-ticked:
Mobile number
Send text message alerts
Standard message rates may apply. Reply STOP to any alert to opt out.
I agree to receive text alerts at this number
Required. We record when consent was given.
When an owner adds a team member, the box reads “This person has agreed to receive text alerts at this number”, and the owner confirms they have that person's agreement. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying or using Linekeeper: every alert is also available by email.
What the texts say
Each text names the business and says what happened, for example:
- “Northside Plumbing: new lead Sam Lee (555) 555-0144 — leaking water heater, wants a quote this week. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.” (the first text to a number)
- “EMERGENCY - Northside Plumbing: new lead Jo Park (555) 555-0187, 12 Elm St — burst pipe in the basement”
- “Northside Plumbing: appointment request from Ana Ruiz (Tue, Nov 3, 9:00 a.m.). Needs confirmation.”
The first text a number receives says how to stop them. Texts never contain marketing.
How often
Message frequency depends on how many calls the business receives; each alert is one text. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop, and help
Reply STOP to any alert to stop all texts to that number; you get one confirmation and nothing after it. Reply HELP for help. You can also turn texts off at any time under Alerts in the dashboard, or contact us through the contact page. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy and terms
Mobile numbers and consent records are used only to send these alerts and are never sold or shared for marketing. See our Privacy Policy and the text message terms in section 20 of our Terms of Service.
